Texas TEKS Math Lesson Plans with AI

Math Under the Texas TEKS

Texas math is built on the TEKS, not Common Core. Each grade's math TEKS are organized into strands — Number and Operations, Algebraic Reasoning, Geometry and Measurement, Data Analysis, and (in the elementary grades) Personal Financial Literacy — and every lesson also carries the mathematical process standards that run across all grades. STAAR math assesses these directly.

Generating TEKS Math Lessons

In the Lesson Plan Generator, specify "Texas TEKS math" and the Student Expectation code — for example, "5.3(K) — add and subtract positive rational numbers fluently."

Try it right here — generate a real lesson plan

No signup needed for your first one. Pick a grade and subject, enter a topic, and watch it write.

  • Name the strand (e.g., Algebraic Reasoning) so the plan stays in the right reporting category.
  • Include a process standard — TEKS math expects students to apply mathematics, use representations, and justify reasoning, not just compute.
  • Reference STAAR in tested grades so practice mirrors the assessment format.

Building Across Grades

Because the TEKS place some skills earlier than Common Core, use a Vertical Plan with "Texas TEKS math" to see how fluency and reasoning build grade to grade. Then run Standards Alignment to confirm SE coverage.
