March 2026 Update

LessonDraft started with lesson plans, quizzes, rubrics, and a few other core tools. This month we're adding 8 new tools, 3 post-generation features, teaching philosophy support, and a bunch of quality-of-life improvements. Here's everything that's new.

New Tools

Student Handout Generator — Generate worksheets, guided notes, graphic organizers, and exit tickets from any topic. Stop spending 30 minutes formatting a worksheet in Google Docs.

Lesson Remix — Paste any existing lesson plan and transform it for a different grade level, subject, or teaching style. Adapt instead of starting over.

Teach This To Me — Get a quick teacher-level crash course on any topic. Not a lesson plan — just a clear explanation so you can teach something confidently even if it's outside your usual content area.

Parent Explainer — Generate parent-friendly summaries of what students are learning and why. No jargon, no standards codes — just plain language parents can actually understand.

Scope & Sequence Builder — Generate quarter, semester, or full-year pacing guides with week-by-week breakdowns. Stop planning one week at a time.

Re-teach Planner — Input student scores and weak areas, get a targeted intervention lesson that approaches the concept from a different angle.

Post-Generation Features

These appear automatically after you generate a lesson plan or unit plan:

Standards Alignment — Click one button and see every relevant standard your lesson covers. No more scrolling through standards documents to find the right codes.

Observation Mode (Pro) — Annotate your lesson plan with Danielson or Marzano framework markers. Know exactly which components you're hitting before your evaluator walks in.

Cross-Curricular Connector — Automatically suggests 3-5 connections between your lesson and other subjects, with activity ideas for each connection.

Teaching Philosophy Support

The lesson plan and unit plan generators now include a teaching philosophy selector. Choose from Montessori, Charlotte Mason, Classical Education, Waldorf, or Reggio Emilia, and the generated plan will reflect that philosophy's principles and practices.

We also added a Teaching Styles page that explains each philosophy in detail — what it looks like in practice, who it's best for, and how to apply it.

Emergency Sub Kit

The Emergency Sub Kit is a dedicated page for emergency sub plans. Pick a grade, tap a subject, get a complete plan. Designed for the 5:30 AM sick day when you can barely think. Bookmark it now.

Dashboard Upgrades

Streak counter — see your current generation streak and keep the momentum going
Achievement badges — earn milestones for using the platform (first generation, 10 generations, trying all tools, and more)
Pick Up Where You Left Off — your dashboard now shows the last tool you used with a quick link to make another
Tool recommendations — after generating a lesson plan, see suggestions for related tools (quizzes, rubrics, handouts)

Every tool on LessonDraft has a free tier — 15 generations per month, no credit card required. If you haven't tried the new tools yet, you can test all of them without spending anything.

Pro and Team subscribers get unlimited generations, priority speed, and access to advanced features like Observation Mode and Bulk Report Cards.
