New York Next Generation ELA Lesson Plans with AI

ELA Under New York's Next Generation Standards

New York revised its ELA into the Next Generation English Language Arts Learning Standards, adding lifelong-practice standards and reorganizing reading, writing, speaking and listening, and language. As with math, older Common Core ELA materials need checking against the revised standards. Progress is measured by the NYS ELA tests and, in high school, the Regents in English.

Generating Next Gen ELA Lessons

In the Lesson Plan Generator, specify "New York Next Generation ELA" and the standard code — for example, "NY-4R1."

Try it right here — generate a real lesson plan

No signup needed for your first one. Pick a grade and subject, enter a topic, and watch it write.

  • Use the NY- code so the plan targets the revised standard.
  • Build in a lifelong practice — the Next Gen standards emphasize habits like reading closely and thinking critically across texts.
  • Plan toward the English Regents for high-school courses.
