New York Next Generation Math Lesson Plans with AI

Math Under New York's Next Generation Standards

New York revised its Common Core-based math into the Next Generation Mathematics Learning Standards. They kept a familiar foundation but re-grade-leveled and clarified many standards and added early-grade adjustments — so older Common Core math materials need checking. Progress is measured by the NYS math tests in grades 3-8 and the Regents in high school.

Generating Next Gen Math Lessons

In the Lesson Plan Generator, specify "New York Next Generation math" and the NY-prefixed code — for example, "NY-4.NF.1."

Try it right here — generate a real lesson plan

No signup needed for your first one. Pick a grade and subject, enter a topic, and watch it write.

  • Use the NY- code so the plan targets the revised standard, not the old Common Core one.
  • Plan backward from the Regents for high-school courses (Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II).
  • Reference the NYS test in grades 3-8 to mirror the item format.

Building Across Grades

Use a Vertical Plan with "New York Next Generation math" to see how a skill builds toward the high-school Regents, then run Standards Alignment to confirm coverage.
